The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is a loan program designed to help small businesses cover payroll and other approved expenses during COVID-19. The PPP loans were created by the recently passed $2.2 trillion government relief package, the CARES Act, to incentivize business owners to keep employees on payroll by offering them loan forgiveness.
