Letter from the CEO
As the world’s most international company – our business is to help keep your small business running smoothly
Global trade. It connects countries, cultures and people. It powers the economy and improves lives everywhere – and since 1969, DHL Express has been a pioneer in this critical industry. However, with the arrival of Covid-19, international commerce has become even more vital – and simultaneously more challenging – than ever.
The crisis has created new shopping patterns among your consumers, as online purchases have largely become the only option for so many. Being an essential business, DHL is now transporting a tremendously high volume of products, including PPE sourced overseas. In response to the surge in our inbound volume from e-commerce, we’ve introduced new flights and added more employees to help us handle unseasonably high demand – and we’re continually adapting to ensure that your products are delivered on time, every time.
Protecting both our employees and our customers
At DHL Express, our top priority is the safety of ALL people. And while we continue to innovate and find new solutions to keep large shipments of PPE and other essential materials moving quickly, we always strictly adhere to the many new safety and regulatory requirements at the local, state and international levels.
As we work to ensure full business continuity to support our customers and supply chains, we’re fully focused on safety, taking special precautionary measures in all areas of the business to protect each and every employee at all offices and facilities. To do this, DHL follows recommendations from government authorities and international organizations, such as the WHO, CDC, ECDC and the Robert Koch Institute, and as part of our safety protocol, we provide employees with masks and sanitizers while also enforcing all social-distancing protocols.
Corporate & social responsibility
At its core, DHL is about connecting people, improving lives and protecting the planet. We call it Living Responsibility – and as part of this concept, DHL has developed three groundbreaking initiatives to support your communities. These include GoGreen (environmental protection), GoTeach (improving education globally) and GoHelp (disaster management.)
Our key contribution to greater sustainability around the world is green logistics. To realize a more sustainable future we think it’s important to think big. Our new climate protection target is to reduce all logistics-related emissions to zero by the year 2050.
So whether we’re reducing our carbon footprint, providing direct humanitarian support or adapting our world-class shipping services to deliver your business across borders, DHL remains unwavering in our promise to provide you with “Excellence. Simply Delivered.”
